Puddles Weblog - Edited by Thomas Hollyday - Author and Illustrator

Puddles Weblog is a free clearing house for fundraising events to help animals. Send in your notice to puddles@solarsippers.com. The weblog also includes news about sources of fresh drinking water and about the loss of habitat for animals as well as reviews of fiction and illustrations with animal subjects. Feel free to participate. The editor notes however that Puddles Weblog is not responsible for the accuracy of any fund raising listing and suggests that fund contributors satisfy themselves that their donated funds will definitely be used to help animals.

01/03/2008: "hugh lofting"

On January 14 we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Hugh Lofting who wrote the series of books we all love, the stories of Doctor Dolittle. Believe it or not, Lofting first wrote the stories in his letters from the front while he served in the British Army during World War One. Probably no single author has done as much as Lofting in bringing the fate of animals to the minds of all of us. This year, read aloud to each other a copy of The Story of Doctor Dolittle in Lofting's memory.
