Should we stop drinking? Here we go again with another American Revolution starting in Concord, Massachusetts. It’s all about using bottled water when tap water is just as good. As the new legislation banning bottled water in that town argues, “all those discarded bottles are damaging our planet, causing clumps of garbage in the oceans and creating more pollution on our streets.” “No one should think that bottled water is better regulated, better protected or safer than tap,” says the Natural Resources Defense Council. So is this another rip off that we are finally taking steps to stop or are the little bottles of water really necessary? You be the judge. It’s money spent on your water resources and those of wildlife that is at stake. By the way, here’s something else we bet you didn’t know. The American Kennel Club reports that you should check out the National Animal Supplement Council for your animal supplement data. They put their seal on products and try to make sure the herbal supplements are properly formulated and contain what they say they do.
Applause please! New England Farmways newsletter has published pretty good destinations in agritourism along the East Coast all the way to Virginia. If we are going to teach our kids sustainable agriculture and love of animals, here’s a good vacation way to do it by visiting working farms. Hard to believe that animal rights have been looked after in law for centuries. Right now the controversy is coming up in courts as wind farms are getting in the way of migratory flights. Check out H. Doliner’s articles in Massachusetts Environmental Law and the information on this from The National Wind Coordinating Collaborative at DOE.
Water dishes are important. Pet business reports that the current humanization trend in pets is that they become members of the human family more and more. One result is increased sales of water and food dishes of all sorts. Many owners want different bowls for different uses. Colors are important and clean water for outdoor use has to be considered too. Non-profits: Take advantage of our 2010 government and non-profit discount program for wildlife waterers.
Happy Bird Publishing news by Virginia: We’ve put back issues of our water resources newsletter on Facebook under a page called Solar Sipper Sense. We’ll work on getting up all twenty five years of editions going back to early Puddles newsletters. Check out any past ideas or websites on water that we have featured and make sure to tell your friends who are interested in these green reports. Our cartoons are also on Facebook under The Animal Viewpoint Cartoons. Enjoy for a chuckle.
